A friend of mine posted this image the other day and I thought it was really powerful! I don't know who originally created it, but kudos to them! There are a couple things in this statement that ring so true to me when it comes to changing the world...
1. DON'T KEEP CALM
Have you ever seen an injustice that angered you, heard of a need so great it moved you tears, or got excited about a cause that you felt passionate about? Me too. All those things, anger, sadness, passion bring us to the opposite place of calm; and you know what: that's exactly where you need to be if you're going to start changing the world. Changing the world starts inside, it's a mental shift, an emotional shift, a heart shift. It's making the decision that you're not going to sit back and stay calm, you're going to be moved by those feelings and allow them to drive you to make a difference. The desire to stay calm, to shut out the injustices in this world kill our chances of ever making an impact. So DON'T STAY CALM, get angry about the injustice and excited about doing something to change it!
2. GET ACTIVE
All that sadness, anger, and excitement means nothing if you don't actually do something about it; and this is where I see a lot of people (with excellent intentions mind you) go back to their state of calm. Changing the world can be such a huge overwhelming thought that we end up doing nothing rather than something. The reality is no ONE person can change the world, but EVERY one person can make a change.
Here are some steps you can take to GET ACTIVE and start changing the world.
SO DON'T BE CALM! TAKE ACTION! CHANGE THE WORLD!
